Traditional Oxcart :

The brightly painted Costa Rican oxcart is the symbol of the hard working Costa Rican middleclass.  For hundreds of years farmers, shopkeepers and artisans depended upon the uniquely hand painted carts to deliver crops and goods to market.  Over the course of the tour you will see some of the original carts at work hauling sugarcane and macadamia.  If you are lucky you can have your picture taken with the oxen and maybe even catch a ride from one of the passing carts.
